The cosy restaurant is set on two levels and offers lots of corners for that candle-lit dinner. With its wonky walls and wooden beams this 500-year-old pub is soaked in history which bring such charm to the restaurant. The bar and snug offer an insight in to years gone by at The Parrot with an array of black and white pictures and artwork.
The bar is stocked with a great choice of craft gins, whiskies and bourbons alongside our eclectic wine list that offers something for everybody. With Adnams just up the coast you can rest assure that your pint will be tip top. We take no shame in not providing straws and stirrers on the bar. We, along with our Sister pub, the Dolphin in Thorpeness and our village store in Thorpeness, have pledged to reduce the amount of plastic that we use. This is just one little way that it can help.
In the kitchen we source as much as we can from local suppliers. All of our meat comes direct from Salter and King butchers in Aldeburgh whilst our greengrocer is just down the road in Ipswich. Our fish monger sources from sustainable stock in Lowestfoft. Through the warmer months we also are supplied with a plethora of produce from John Westrup in Thorpeness.
We are delighted to be able to offer a takeaway menu also. It’s the same great food that you can get in our restaurant but now you can take it home with you. We have worked hard to make sure that all of our packaging is compostable or recyclable. To order your takeaway simply call your order through to us. We will ask for a mobile number and give you an estimated time. We will call you when the food is ready to pick up. please do not come in to the pub until you have received a call from us.
We have adapted our restaurant to make it safer for everybody during these difficult times. We are limited on restaurant tables now to ensure that everybody is socially distanced. Service may be a little different to what you are used to at The Parrot, therefore we ask that you are patient during busier times. We are operating with a smaller team to make sure they can work safely together. Please note that we are unable to take bookings with dogs inside now. Please note that we are unable to book tables inside with dogs at the moment.
Please note that our menus change regularly, please check back before your reservation for the most up to date menu.
